Alarm monitor and long term bed sensor pad.
Alarm sounds alert from within the patient's room.
Alarm features an adjustable volume (70-80 db), an easy reset button,a status indicator, and a low battery indicator.
Sensor pad is made of soft cushioned vinyl, is incontinence resistant, and is easy to wipe clean (see care instructions on pad).
How to choose the package that's right for your needs from the Product Options above:
Choose your bed pad size:
10" x 30" pad - for a patient weighing 120 lbs. or more, being used on a firm mattress*.
20" x 30" pad (+$10) - for a patient weighing less than 120 lbs. Also recommended when using with a hospital bed, memory foam, gel, air or Tempur-Pedic® mattress*.
Choose to add a Protective Alarm Cover:
If intending to use in a facility or in the care of multiple patients, adding a Protective Alarm Cover to your system (+$6.95) is highly recommended.
Choose to add an AC adapter:
Alarm operates on a 9 volt battery (not included).
Add the optional AC Adapter (+$9.95). If adding to your package, we recommend keeping batteries in the alarm as a backup in case of an electrical power failure.
Package comes with a one year manufacturer warranty at no charge. Manufacturer, Smart Caregiver Corporation, recommends that pad is replaced after the expiration of warranty period. To order a new pad, see our Replacement Standard Sensor Pads.
How to use:
Place the pad horizontally across the patient's back area. Connect pad's 6 ft. cord to bed alarm, clipping securely with a connection similar to a phone jack. Run cord alongside the mattress. Hang the bed alarm on the bed or mount on a wall (hanging hardware included), or place in a convenient location next to the bed. When patient lifts their weight from the pad, the bed alarm will sound. Silence the alarm by pressing the reset button as you assist your patient. When you are ready to activate the system again, place the patient back onto the pad. The system is reactivated and ready to respond as soon as they lift their weight from the pad again.
*Note on using with Hospital Bed, Memory Foam, Gel, Air or Tempur-Pedic Mattresses:
Using this system with certain types of mattresses or cushions, such as hospital bed, memory foam, Tempur-Pedic®, air pressure alternating, gel cushions, or other types designed to distribute pressure away from the body, can cause false alarm responses or delayed alarm issues. Our 20" x 30" sensor pads are more effective when used with these types of mattresses, so we recommend purchasing the larger pad, regardless of patient weight.
