Bed/chair alarm with long term bed and chair sensor pads.
Alarm sounds alert from within the patient's room.
Alarm features an adjustable volume (70-80 db), an easy reset button, a status indicator, and a low battery indicator.
Sensor pads are made of soft cushioned vinyl, are incontinence resistant, and are easy to wipe clean (see care instructions on pad).
How to choose the package that's right for your needs from the Product Options above:
Choose to add a second alarm:
Package comes with one alarm that you move between the bed pad and chair pad as necessary.
Add a second alarm so each pad has a dedicated alarm (+$30).
Choose to add a Protective Alarm Cover:
If intending to use in a facility or in the care of multiple patients, adding a Protective Alarm Cover to your system (+$9.95) is highly recommended.
Choose your bed pad size (chair pad is one size only, 10" x 15"):
10" x 30" pad - for a patient weighing 120 lbs. or more, being used on a firm mattress*.
20" x 30" pad (+$10) - for a patient weighing less than 120 lbs. Also recommended when using with a hospital bed, memory foam, gel, air or Tempur-Pedic® mattress*.
Choose to add an AC adapter:
Alarm operates on a 9 volt battery (not included).
Add the optional AC Adapter (+$9.95). If adding to your package, we recommend keeping batteries in the alarm as a backup in case of an electrical power failure.
How to use:
Place the bed pad horizontally across the patient's back area. Connect pad's 6 ft. cord to bed alarm, clipping securely with a connection similar to a phone jack. Run cord alongside the mattress. Hang the bed alarm on the bed or mount on a wall (hanging hardware included), or place in a convenient location next to the bed. When patient lifts their weight from the pad, the bed alarm will sound. Silence the alarm by pressing the reset button as you assist your patient. When you are ready to activate the system again, place the patient back onto the pad. The system is reactivated and ready to respond as soon as they lift their weight from the pad again.
When your patient is ready to sit in their chair, disconnect the alarm from the bed pad, and transfer to the 7" x 15" chair sensor pad*. It's just as easy as that! A simple connection. And now you will know if they are trying to get up out of their chair.
*Note on using with Hospital Bed, Memory Foam, Gel, Air or Tempur-Pedic Mattresses/Cushions:
Using this system with certain types of mattresses or cushions, such as hospital bed, memory foam, Tempur-Pedic®, air pressure alternating, gel cushions, or other types designed to distribute pressure away from the body, can cause false alarm responses or delayed alarm issues. Our 20" x 30" bed sensor pads are more effective when used with these types of mattresses, so we recommend purchasing the larger pad, regardless of patient weight. If experiencing issues with a chair sensor pad being used with a cushion, we recommend removing the cushion.
One year manufacturer warranty. Long term pads are expected to last a year and are warrantied as such. The pads should be replaced after that time. To order a new pad, see our Replacement Standard Sensor Pads.
