Package Includes:
Cordless/wireless alarm and a 10" x 15" long term cordless chair sensor pad.
The alarm can be kept with the caregiver up to 100 ft. from the chair pad, allowing the caregiver more mobility, while providing the patient with a more peaceful environment. The caregiverwill receive an alert, day or night, whenever their patient is trying to get out of their chair.
Features:
Alarm has an adjustable volume (varies between 70-80 db), a chime alert tone, an On/Off switch, and a low battery indicator.
Sensor pad is made of soft cushioned vinyl, is incontinence resistant, and is easy to wipe clean (see care instructions on pad).
Choose to add an AC adapter:
Power alarm with three (3) C batteries (not included).
or
Add an optional AC Adapter (+$9.95). If adding to your package, we recommend keeping batteries in the alarm as a backup in case of an electrical power failure.
How to use:
Place the chair pad flat on the seat of a wheelchair, or other chair*. A light coverlet such as a sheet or blanket can be placed over the pad. When patient lifts their weight from the pad, the alarm will sound. Caregiver can then turn off the caregiver alert system and assist the patient.
Other system benefits:
This system also has the benefit of allowing you to add additional products to your system at any time. You can add call buttons (available under 'Related Products' below), motion sensors, bed pads, and floor mats. All these items will alert at the same alarm. Up to six (6) of these items can be used with one alarm!
* Note on using with cushions:
Please be aware that using this system with certain types of cushions, such as memory foam, gel, air filled, or other ones designed to distribute pressure away from the body, can cause false alarm responses. When sensor pads are used on these surfaces, the cushions distribute body pressure away from the pads, which can cause the pad to think that the patient is no longer upon it, triggering an alarm. Conversely, these cushions can also cause delayed alarm issues. You may need to remove these types of cushions from the chair you wish to use with this alarm system.
Warranty:
One year manufacturer's warranty. Long term pads are expected to last a year and are warrantied as such. The pads should be replaced after that time. To order a new pad, see our Replacement Cordless Sensor Pads.
